Stage 1: Selecting a topic and supervisor Deadline #1: 23rd November 2023 - Selecting a Topic | • Students will research possible topics, and apply for the topics that most interest them by November 23rd • Supervisors will be confirmed by the HODs and Diploma Coordinator following this deadline. |
Stage 2: Confirmation of Topic Deadline #2: 15th March 2024 - Confirmation of Topic | • Following their supervisor assignment, students will meet with their supervisor. This is an opportunity to confirm that their topic will work for the EE and to identify any potential problems with the topic. • This meeting will be logged on the RPPF. • Following the meeting, five sources and a one-paragraph summary of their expected topic, outlining what data will be collected/used (if any), will be uploaded to the Dropbox on ManageBac by 15th March 2024 |
Stage 3: Outline Deadline #3: April 17th - Outline | • Students will continue researching their essay topic and carrying out any experiment or investigation. • A full outline and all sources are due April 17th 2024. These must be submitted to the dropbox on ManageBac. |
Stage 4: Partial Draft Deadline #4: 12th June 2024 - Partial Draft | • Students will begin writing their essay and will upload a partial draft of at least 1,000 words to the ManageBac Dropbox by June 12th, 2024 • Students should collect as much data as possible before this deadline. • This may consist of any portion of the essay but MUST include the main data/analysis section (as is relevant to the subject area). |
Stage 5: First Draft Deadline #5: 16th September 2024 - First Full Draft | • Students will complete the first full draft over the summer. • A full draft is due to the dropbox on ManageBac by September 16th, 2024. • The supervisors will give full written feedback on this draft by the 20th of September 2024. • This feedback meeting will be logged on the RPPF. |
Stage 6: Final Draft Deadline #6: 15th October 2024 - Final Draft | • Students will take the feedback from their supervisors and use it to make edits for their final draft. • The final draft must be submitted to the dropbox on ManageBac by October 15th, 2024. |
Stage 7: Viva Voce Deadline #7: 12th November 2024 - Viva Voce Complete | • The supervisor will conduct a final Viva Voce interview after the final submission date. • The supervisor and student will log the VV on the RPPF.(A summary of the interview will suffice) |
